What Now - (issue 3) (14 Jul 22)

Welcome back to another issue, it's gone off the rails since last time, but I'm back on track. Still working on my time management, but I think I have a workable plan. I will see how goes and adjust the plan as I need. I have a new workflow for the blog, throughout the week I will work on my current project and if it is finished I will write up the blog the following week giving me time to digest what I've studied.

webdev1.jpg As well as starting with HTML and CSS, I'm studying network fundamentals. My current project is a 12hr+ Bootcamp by anna kubow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm4BObh4MhI covering the basics of HTML CSS and javascript. I have completed the HTML and CSS sections and with what I have learned I have built out my profile site [ munchbyte.net ]. I will be posting a web development blog going over what I have learned. I have also come across Frontend mentor, a training/practice platform, that provides you with projects simulating real-world problems. You can post your solution on the platform and get reviewed by fellow developers, and I can use these projects to build up my portfolio. I will be posting an article reviewing what they offer and the alternatives that I have found.

hero.jpg My redesigned profile site is up and running at the moment I need to add a few things like the projects section and finish my contact form. It's going to be constantly growing and improving, but I have a look and feel I want. I will experiment with each new skill to enhance the look and functionality of my site, as I build it out I plan to have my own hosted site combining my portfolio, blog and demo site.

The road ahead

Upcoming blogs, first my web development series starting with the basics and my portfolio site, and I'm drafting an article on Frontend mentor and other similar services, I need to do a bit of research on what's available. I'm about to start the next part of the Bootcamp, diving into Javascript. After the Bootcamp I will practice using a tool like Frontend mentor, and then I plan to start to learn frameworks like nodejs, working more with git and GitHub and package manages.

That's all for now, it's good to be back on track, will keep the updates every week or fortnight.
